1. Overview
Visit Mate provides software used by businesses and their customers for services such as check-in, queues, bookings, customer accounts, online orders, gift cards, memberships, loyalty, payments and reporting.
This policy explains the kinds of information Visit Mate may handle, the purposes for which it is handled, and how people can contact us about privacy. Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles apply, Visit Mate intends to handle personal information consistently with those requirements.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the service being used, information may include:
- names, phone numbers, email addresses and account details;
- bookings, check-ins, queue activity, service history and customer preferences;
- order, gift card, membership, loyalty and transaction records;
- business profile, staff, location and operational information supplied by merchants;
- device, browser, IP, diagnostic and security information; and
- support messages, attachments and other information supplied when contacting Visit Mate.
3. How information is used
- provide, administer and secure Visit Mate services;
- process bookings, queues, orders and account activity;
- provide customer and business support and investigate technical issues;
- operate loyalty, membership and merchant reporting features;
- prevent misuse, fraud and unauthorised access; and
- maintain and improve reliability, performance and user experience.
4. When information may be shared
Information may be shared with the business a customer is interacting with, service providers needed to operate Visit Mate, payment and communications providers, professional advisers, and other parties where required or authorised by law.
A merchant receives information reasonably needed to provide its services to that customer. Visit Mate does not make customer information publicly available merely because it is stored in the platform.
5. Storage and security
Visit Mate uses technical and organisational safeguards intended to reduce unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure and loss. No internet transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Access, correction and choices
People may contact Visit Mate to ask about access to or correction of personal information and, where applicable, other privacy requests. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting or operational reasons.
A customer may also need to contact the relevant merchant where that merchant controls the underlying business record or service relationship.
7. Questions or privacy concerns
Use Customer Support or Business Support to contact Visit Mate. Please provide enough information for the request to be located without sending unnecessary sensitive information.
